On Thursday (February 11), the Romanian Embassy visited Widyatama University for the second time. This time, Mrs. Valerica Epure, representative of the Romanian Embassy, was accompanied by her colleague Christian Epure, Deputy Head of Mission. The delegation was welcomed by the Rector of Widyatama University and his staff. The event was attended by the Dean, Study Programs and Cooperation Bureau, Marketing Bureau, Planning and Development Bureau, and Widyatama Quality Control Center.
Unlike the first visit, the event held in the rector’s meeting room was more of a formal closed meeting. This meeting focused on discussing master’s scholarship cooperation for Indonesian students studying in Romania and vice versa. This was revealed directly by the Romanian Embassy, and the attractive offer also became one of Mrs. Valerica’s Work Programs in academic development between the two countries.
The scholarship program offered by her is not only applicable to fresh graduates with a bachelor’s degree, but also open to lecturers planning to pursue a doctoral program. The formal cooperation established by the Embassy with state universities in Romania is one of her strong points in encouraging domestic students to study there.
The outcome of the meeting was that both parties hoped that the second meeting, which discussed cooperation planning, would lead to continuous cooperation and the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between UTama and state universities in Romania. The Romanian Embassy, as a mediator, also benefited from the success of the planned work program. Additionally, Indonesian students can broaden their horizons and compete in the global arena, bringing honor to their institutions and Indonesia.
