Enhancing Cooperation, Widyatama is ready to face the ASEAN Economic Community

On Wednesday (12/10), Widyatama University (UTama). welcomed 13 Cambodian students from the National Polytechnic Institute of Cambodia (NPIC). The visit was organized as part of the Double Degree program between UTama and NPIC. The cooperation, marked by a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), has been in place since 2014. This activity reflects UTama’s commitment to developing cooperation with both domestic and international universities, particularly in the area of student exchange. Also present were UTama Rector Dr. H. Islahuzzaman SE., M.Si., Ak., CA and his staff, Treasurer of the Widyatama Foundation Djoko Subagyo Roespinoedji, S.E., Pg.Dip, and invited guests from NPIC represented by Ith Vuthy, M.Sc., M.A.

In 2015, a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) was signed between the two institutions regarding the Double Degree program. In addition to the MoA, the meeting also included Curriculum Mapping for the equivalence and recognition of courses at both institutions. As a pilot project, it was decided that the Widyatama Information Technology Study Program would implement this program.

The agreed Double Degree program takes 3 + 1 (the first 3 years will be carried out at their respective institutions and the last year will be carried out at the Partner Institution). This year, as the first activity of this Double Degree program, both institutions agreed to send 13 students to each institution.

This Double Degree program is strongly supported by the Widyatama Foundation, as evidenced by the issuance of a Decree (SK) on Living Expenses Assistance for this Double Degree Program. The issuance of this decree is a tangible manifestation of the plan to improve the quality of graduates. This compensation helps students to pursue their studies and achieve their goals. In addition to activities for students, lecturer exchanges are also a form of academic quality improvement, which will contribute to both the lecturers participating in the exchange and UTama.
