Widyatama’s Existence in the Riau Islands

On Thursday (February 15), the community affiliated with the \Universitas Widyatama (UTama) Student Association in Tanjung Balai Karimun, Riau Islands, held a KPMK goes to School event. This was an initiative by UTama students who wanted to introduce the quality of their campus to prospective students. Data from PMB UTama over the past three years shows an upward trend in the number of students continuing on to higher education. There is even a widespread opinion that they should study in several major cities in Indonesia and then return to their region to serve. This is something that has become a culture, which has been happening for years in the region.

The students were enthusiastic as they listened to the presentation by the UTama students, especially when they were shown the excellent facilities that can support their talents and aspirations. This community, which calls itself KPMK (Karimun Student Youth Community), has glorious intentions. In addition to being a gathering place for students and their teachers, this event also aims to facilitate high school students in choosing and finding out information about universities, especially UTama.

The existence of UTama in the Riau Islands has not faded; in fact, every year there is a growing trend of students choosing UTama as their university of choice. Many of them have been successful in the world of work, industry, and entrepreneurship by joining UTama. The presence of local students who provide knowledge about higher education gives them insight into the diversity of facilities offered in the city of Bandung.
