Universitas Widyatama PostGraduate Students Learn About Pertamina’s Consolidated Finances

Dozens of graduate students from the Accounting Program at Universitas Widyatama in Bandung visited Pertamina’s headquarters at Jl. Medan Merdeka Timur 1A, Jakarta on Thursday (May 17th, 2018). During the visit, the students received presentations from Pertamina’s Institutional Relations Manager Muhammad Baron and Financial Reporting Manager Agus Susanto.

Muhammad Baron, Manager of Institutional Relations, warmly welcomed the graduate students. He explained that student visits are one of the ways Pertamina creates good relations with educational institutions in Indonesia. During the visit, he also presented material on Pertamina’s business and contributions to the nation.

Meanwhile, Financial Reporting Manager Agus Susanto presented material on the process of preparing Pertamina’s consolidated financial statements. According to him, the completion of Pertamina’s consolidated financial statements involves an audit strategy, consisting of internal and external audits.

“We don’t just work on the finances of PT Pertamina (Persero), but we also control all of its subsidiaries. Therefore, the financial audits we conduct are very complex. Pertamina’s strategy for auditing its finances is to use both internal and external audits,” explained Agus.

The Dean of the Faculty of Economics at Universitas Widyatama Bandung, Dr. R. Wedi Rusmawan, expressed his appreciation for Pertamina’s willingness to accept students. He hopes that this visit can be implemented by professional and master’s students in the world of work.

“This has also become a routine activity for Universitas Widyatama Accounting Professional or Master of Accounting students to participate in visits. Hopefully, what they learn in college can be implemented in the workplace and certainly add to the experience of all students who attend,” he said.
