Universitas Widyatama students who are members of the Widyatama Japan Community Activity Unit held Japanese Culture Week through the tenth annual “Mecha” Sashimi event. Previously, this Sashimi event was held regularly every year as a forum for learning about and expressing Japanese culture studied during lectures.
The Xth Sashimi, with the theme “Mecha,” was a competition, Japanese cultural arts demonstration, and entertainment event. The competition included cover dancing, cosplay, band competitions, and cover singing, with participants from high schools throughout West Java. The Sashimi Mecha highlight event was attended by more than 500 people from the general public. The event, held at the Widyatama Auditorium Building (GSG) on Saturday (April 28th), was enlivened by several guest star bands, including Lunatic Tokyo, Eyivose, Sam site, Umbrellatime, Recode, Thousandsunny, and Kirari. Stalls with a Japanese theme also enlivened the Auditorium Building area, offering everything from accessories to culinary delights.
