Visual Communication Design Faculty Masterclass Workshop

As part of its efforts to provide basic material on the teaching and learning process in the Widyatama Graphic Design and Multimedia Study Program, the Widyatama Faculty of Visual Communication Design (DKV) held a Masterclass workshop to improve the skills of new students in the Theater Building, Building B, 6th floor, Widyatama University (July 31).

The workshop was attended by new students from the 2018/2019 FDKV Widyatama cohort, prospective new students, and parents. Present at the event was the Dean of the Faculty of Visual Communication Design (DKV) Widyatama, Dr. Anne Nurfarina, S.Sn., M.Sn, who gave a speech and opened the workshop. In her speech, Anne said that this activity was intended to familiarize new students with general knowledge about Visual Communication Design in terms of science and professionalism.

Dozens of prospective students and parents attended the Widyatama FDKV sharing and counseling session.

The Head of the Widyatama Graphic Design Study Program, Rudi Farid, explained the learning methods applied at DKV Widyatama and the facilities that can be used to hone design skills to make images look more commercial.

He also noted that in today’s world, discussing art is no longer the exclusive domain of art universities, art students, or art faculties. Because art now belongs to everyone. Everyone has artistic potential within them; it’s just a matter of how to develop it according to their passion. Workshops like this are certainly useful in providing training for the development of students’ talents, interests, and artistic skills.

Rudi further mentioned that the demand for artists in the fields of graphic design and multimedia is currently very high, but unfortunately the general public is not yet aware of this. The workshop ended with a visit to the Widyatama DKV Gallery, which displayed the students’ artwork, ranging from drawings to animated videos.
