Monday, August 6th, 2018 Universitas Widyatama (UTama) received a visit from Universiti Teknologi Mara (UITM) Sarawak Malaysia. The group of 21 people led by Mr. Yussri Sawani was welcomed by the Vice Rector for Operations and Human Resources of Universitas Wdyatama, Dr. H. Nuryaman, S.E., M.Si., Ac., CA. as well as the Dean of the Faculty of Economics and several bureau leaders.
The discussion began with UITM introducing Universitas Widyatama to its faculties and study programs, as well as the curriculum system it implements. This was followed by an introduction to Universitas Widyatama through the screening of a company profile video.
In the discussion, UITM explained that it implements a matriculation system that runs for one year for students, who are required to take a pre-university course for one semester. In their final semester, students are required to participate in an internship at several KAPs in Malaysia.

On the same occasion, UITM opened opportunities for cooperation in several areas, including research collaboration between lecturers, internship and student exchange programs. In addition, the two institutions discussed the current trend of conducting research on ethnicity due to the diversity of ethnic groups in Indonesia and Malaysia.
Meanwhile, the Faculty of Economics, represented by the Vice Dean of the Faculty of Economics, Dr. Rita Yuniarti, explained that an acceleration program is currently being implemented, particularly in the Faculty of Economics. Students who have completed their seventh semester and are currently writing their thesis can immediately join the Accounting Profession Program (PPAk), so that in 5.5 years, Widyatama students can obtain a Bachelor’s and Ak degree.
After the discussion, the group was invited to visit several facilities and infrastructure owned by Widyatama. The event concluded with an exchange of souvenirs. (Ed)
