In recent years, Widyatama University has not only accepted domestic students, but also students from various countries around the world, including Turkey, Australia, Malaysia, Singapore, and Timor Leste, both as regular students and through the Student Exchange program. During the 2018/2019 academic year, Widyatama University once again accepted 20 students from Multimedia University Malaysia (MMU).

This program is the implementation of a Memorandum of Understanding initiated in March 2018 between Widyatama University and Multimedia University Malaysia, which was followed by curriculum mapping between the Faculty of Engineering and the Faculty of Information Science and Technology (FIST), as well as the Faculty of Visual Communication Design and the Faculty of Creative Multimedia (FCM). MMU and Widyatama students participating in this program will receive course materials that can be transferred into agreed-upon course credits.

The group from MMU arrived in two batches. The first batch of ten students was led by Mrs. Sri Kusumawati Binti Modh Daud, MS, Deputy Dean of Students, and Mr. Md Najib Bin Osman, MS, representative of FCM located in Cyberjaya, Selangor. The second group was from FIST, located in Malacca, accompanied by Mrs. Siti Zainab, MIT. Interestingly, students from the two faculties, which are about 135 km apart, met for the first time in Bandung. They arrived at Widyatama University on Sunday, October 28, 2018. On Monday morning, the group was welcomed by the Rector of Widyatama University, Dr. H. Islahuzzaman, S.E., M.Si., Ak., CA, along with the Head of the Cooperation Bureau, Aida Wijaya, S.E., M.Si., Ak, as well as the Deans of the Faculty of Engineering and the Faculty of Visual Communication Design, together with officials from each study program at Widyatama University.

Sebelum mengikuti perkuliahan selama 2 minggu, mahasiswa MMU diberikan orientasi mengenai berbagai informasi terkait fasilitas yang dapat dimanfaatkan oleh mahasiswa. Selain itu juga diberikan penjelasan terkait unit-unit layanan yang berhubungan langsung dengan kebutuhan mahasiswa seperti Lab komputer, perpustakaan, klinik kesehatan Gedung Pusat Kegiatan Mahasiswa, dan yang lainnya. Mahasiswa FIST mengikuti beberapa mata kuliah di Fakultas Teknik sedangkan mahasiswa FCM mengikuti materi kuliah yang diberikan di Fakultas DKV Widyatama. Ibu Siti Zainab juga sempat mengajar mahasiswa Widyatama di Fakultas Teknik.

The event was closed by the Vice Rector for Academic Affairs, Planning and Cooperation, Prof. Dr. Mohd Haizam bin Mohd Saudi, and was also attended by the Dean of the Faculty of Visual Communication Design, Dr. Anne Nurfarina, S.Sn., M.Sn, and the study program staff and lecturers, with a giving away between Widyatama University and MMU.
