The English Department of Widyatama University and the English Student Association (HIMABI) of Widyatama University play a role in developing English language skills, especially for high school/vocational school/Islamic high school students. As part of the English Program and HIMABI’s commitment to enhancing the English proficiency of high school students, the program has introduced a language proficiency activity that is held annually, known as the English Festival 2021 or more commonly referred to as E-Fest.

This year, the event was held online with a virtual setting. This year marks the 18th E-fest organized by the English Study Program and HIMABI. The E-fest 2021 event aims to introduce the English program to the general public, high school/vocational school/Islamic high school students, and university students in particular. During E-fest 2021, several competitions were held, including a Speech Contest, News Anchor, Story Telling, Singing Competition, and Poetry Reading. A total of 40 participants from several schools and universities participated in E-Fest 2021.

The E-Fest event is expected to be able to explore the potential and talents of the participants, especially in terms of English, and show them to the audience through the competitions they participate in. With the theme Vintage Victorian 1800s Ego te Provoco, it is hoped that the E-Fest 2021 event will motivate participants, as the competitions they participate in are not simply a showcase of talent, but the ultimate goal of these competitions is to become the champion.
