A student at Universitas Widyatama (UTama), Bandung, Friska Febriyanti Wijaya, on Tuesday evening (August 18th) won the Best Presentation Award AICAD INDDEX 2021 at an international academic competition, through her paper entitled: Concetual Artbook Design of the Novel “Negeri di Ujung Tanduk” by author Tere Liye.

The student of the Graphic Design study program at the Faculty of Visual Communication Design (DKV) UTama was one of six students from the university who participated in the individual group competition, while another participant consisting of three people participated in the group category competition held online by UiTM Perak University, Malaysia.

The Dean of the Faculty of Visual Communication Design (DKV) UTama, Deden Maulana, said on Thursday (19/08) that Friska Febriyanti’s success is proof that every DKV UTama student’s work has the same opportunity to showcase their best prototypes.

INDDEX (International Degree Design Exchange) is an international academic forum which is being held for the fourth time this year. It is initiated by UiTM Perak University in Malaysia and attended by participants from a number of universities in Indonesia, Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Russia, Japan, and the host country, Malaysia.

The DKV UTama Faculty included student final projects (TA) in Inddex 2021, which also served as an implementation of the Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) program and as an indicator of project or independent study choices. The DKV Faculty selectively included competition materials with local content themes, including the history of Bandung City.

In addition, other competition materials included by DKV students were materials that highlighted local MSME products in the form of applied digital media, UI/UX prototype applied model interface designs, case studies in the field of art, and adaptations of a novel.

The INDDEX 2021 event with the Showcase Degree Presentation was held from August 12 to 18, 2021, online using a scheduled Zoom classroom model, featuring speakers from academia, professionals, and students from various countries.

Activities during the INDDEX 2021 event, supported by AICAD (International Association of Community Art and Design) UiTM Perak Malaysia, also included other academic-related programs such as journal publications, seminars, innovations and research findings, and student exchanges.
