The UTama Outstanding Student Selection (PILMAPRES) event was held on Thursday, May 19, 2022. This event is a new program from the Student Affairs Office of Widyatama University, which will be held annually with the aim of enhancing the quality of UTama students. There are 7 (seven) participants from the undergraduate and vocational programs who will represent UTama at the 2022 Regional Outstanding Student Selection.
“Later, the top-ranked undergraduate and vocational programs will be coached and prepared for regional competitions,” said Muchammad Fauzi, S.T., M.Log. (Head of the Student Affairs Bureau).

Also present was Prof. Dr. H. Dadang Suganda, M.Hum. (Acting Rector of Widyatama University), who opened the event and greatly appreciated the students who had the courage to perform.
“I really appreciate this activity. Currently, the country is giving independence to students who have achievements and excellence. With this activity, please prove what you have.”
“After you graduate, you will have the capital and identity of someone who has been recommended, appreciated, and proven. Everyone has their strengths and weaknesses, and of course, we must be able to cover our weaknesses with our strengths. My message to students is to please maximize your strengths and advantages.”

In closing, he shared his experience of competing not only for academic purposes but also for the ultimate goal of the competition, which is to inspire students to be proud of their achievements at the university level, which will become a source of creative strength in making breakthroughs.
The judges for the event were Dr. Syafrizal Ikram, S.E., M.Si., Ak., C.A., Dr. Ervina C. M. Simatupang, S.S., M.Hum., and Yanyan Agustian, S.T., M.Eng., Ph.D. The criteria for evaluation were outstanding achievements and creative ideas, student organization activity, and student competition achievements.
The winners of the competition were announced by Ervina, who was amazed by the capabilities of UTama students, making it difficult for the judges to determine the ranking order.

“I am amazed by the abilities of the students, and the judges had a difficult time choosing the winners. You were able to step out of your comfort zone to participate in this competition, so winning or losing is not the issue. Congratulations to all of you for making history for UTama, and thank you to the Student Affairs Bureau for organizing this event.”
The awards were presented symbolically by the Acting Rector of UTama, who reminded the entire UTama academic community to encourage students to participate in regional, national, and international competitions.

1st Place: Farisya Salsabila Azahra – D4 Film and Television Production
2nd Place: Laras Sukma Nurani – D3 Accounting
3rd Place: Nabiilah Budiyani – D3 Japanese Language
