Widyatama University held an event to develop Type A Prior Learning Recognition (RPL) Assessment Tools, inviting prospective RPL students.
This event was held to align perceptions regarding the assessment tools between the assessors who will conduct the assessment and the heads of study programs and RPL assessors who have been assigned tasks. Students received information on what they need to prepare for the assessment.
The RPL Assessment is a systematic process to gather information about the knowledge, skills, attitudes, and competencies of prospective RPL students to make a decision on whether or not they are eligible to be accepted as RPL students at Widyatama University.
According to the Vice Rector for Tridharma Perguruan Tinggi & Kemahasiswaan, Dr. R. Wedi Rusmawan Kusumah, S.E., M.Si., Ak., CA., as the activity director, explained that the RPL assessment tools play an important role in ensuring the quality and reliability of the assessment process.
“There are several reasons why assessment tools are needed to ensure that the assessment tools used to evaluate individuals are consistent and uniform, both for individuals and groups,” explained Vice Rector for Higher Education & Student Affairs Dr. R. Wedi Rusmawan Kusumah, S.E., M.Si., Ak., CA, on Saturday, September 16, 2023, during an event at HARRIS Hotel & Convention, Jl. Ciumbuleuit No. 50 – 58 Hegarmanah, Bandung City.
Dr. R. Wedi Rusmawan Kusumah added that with the assessment tools that have been prepared in advance, future assessments can be conducted objectively and reduce bias or subjectivity from assessors.
“Good tools will produce accurate and reliable assessment results. This means that the assessment results reflect the actual abilities of the individuals being assessed during training. The assessment tools serve as a guide for assessors on how to conduct assessments, what to pay attention to, and how to evaluate the assessment results,” he explained.
Vice Rector for Tridharma Perguruan Tinggi & Kemahasiswaan Dr. R. Wedi Rusmawan Kusumah, S.E., M.Si., Ak., CA. as the activity director, asked the Heads of Study Programs as the developers of the RPL assessment tools and RPL Assessors as users of the RPL assessment tools to carry out their duties properly.
“The assessment tools follow the standards set by the Ministry, while Widyatama University only adjusts them to the needs of its study programs,” he concluded.
