Cibenda Village became the location for the Community Service Program, which aims to help the village community save electricity. This program was implemented by the Electrical Engineering Study Program, Faculty of Engineering, Widyatama University as part of the Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi Program.
The use of electricity in daily life contributes to economic growth in the community. With economic growth, the community’s need for electrical energy continues to increase, which has an impact on the high cost of electricity that must be paid by the community.
In this program, the Community Service team conducted socialization and provided solar panel-based street lighting as a form of utilizing solar energy for public street lighting. This tool is intended so that the surrounding community can utilize the solar energy available in the surrounding environment so that the community no longer relies on electricity supplied by PLN to illuminate roads or public places in the surrounding environment.
