Widyatama University and University Teknologi Mara (UiTM) Malaysia conducted community service (P2M) by providing prayer equipment and stunting treatment to Al Islam Mother and Child Hospital in Cicadas.
The presence of UiTM Malaysia and Widyatama University was welcomed by the Director of Al Islam Mother and Child Hospital, located at Jalan Awi Bitung No. 29-31.
UiTM students and representatives from Widyatama University were invited to tour the Al Islam Mother and Child Hospital in Cicadas.
The Secretary of Widyatama University, Dra Uning Kuraesin M.Pd, said that the assistance provided was focused on stunting.
She said that in general, the rate of stunting in Indonesia is still above 20 percent and stunting is also one of the government’s programs to prevent stunting.
“Under the umbrella of education that cares for the community, we received information that Al Islam Hospital is collecting data on stunting, so we contributed by providing vitamins to pregnant women,” said Uning at Al Islam Mother and Child Hospital in Cicadas on Saturday (March 9, 2024).
Uning said that by providing these vitamins, it is hoped that this program can continue by providing additional food for pregnant women and toddlers.

The director of Al Islam Hospital in Bandung, Dr. Patuh Ikranegara MMRS, said that the issue of stunting is one of Al Islam Hospital’s visions that cannot be fully executed because it requires collaboration.
“The issue of stunting is not only about the first 1,000 days of life, but children who are yet to be born must be included in the program before conception. During pregnancy, knowledge and proper management are also crucial,” said Patuh.
Vitamins for pregnancy to prevent stunting, said Patuh, will be given to pregnant women through the sub-district office, which has collaborated with Al Islam Hospital.
UITM Malaysia also provided religious items to Al Islam Hospital, which can be used by patients.

Executive Officer of the Corporate Communications Unit at UiTM Perak Branch, Shahrul Izwan Md Hassan, said that the religious items provided included prayer robes, prayer mats, kopiah caps, prayer beads, perfume, spray, and the Al-Qur’an.
“We want to provide benefits to patients, those who care for patients, and also the staff of Al Islam Hospital so that they can use prayer equipment that can be beneficial for their spirituality,” said Shahrul.
From this P2M activity, it is hoped that Widyatama University and UiTM can provide benefits and that the collaboration with Al Islam Hospital will continue.
