Strengthening the Widyatama University Curriculum: Elaboration Towards the Future of Education

Garut, June 30, 2024 – Widyatama University successfully held a curriculum elaboration activity for study programs in Kampung Sumber Alam, Garut, West Java, from June 28 to 30, 2024. This activity aimed to refine and develop a curriculum that is more relevant to industry developments and job market needs.

The event, which was attended by lecturers, department heads, deans, and teaching staff from various faculties at Widyatama University, began with a speech from the Rector of Widyatama University, Prof. Dr. H. Dadang Suganda, M.Hum. In his speech, he emphasized the importance of curriculum renewal to produce competent graduates who are ready to compete in the digital era.

“This curriculum elaboration activity is a strategic step to ensure that the education we provide is always relevant and able to respond to the challenges of the times. We are committed to continuing to innovate in order to produce quality graduates,” said Prof. Dadang.

For three days, participants were involved in various discussion sessions and workshops. These sessions included evaluating the existing curriculum, identifying industry needs, and developing more interactive and applicable learning modules.

Vice Rector for Academic Affairs, Prof. Reiza D Dienaputra, M.Hum. , added that the results of this activity will be implemented in the upcoming semester. “We hope that with the new curriculum, students will gain a better learning experience that is in line with the current needs of the workforce,” he said.

The curriculum elaboration activity began with presentations of the results of discussions from each study program. All agreed-upon inputs and recommendations will form the basis for the development of a new curriculum that is more adaptive and innovative.

With this update, Widyatama University hopes to continue contributing to the development of an excellent young generation that is ready to face global challenges.
