In line with the complexity of urban challenges, the Bachelor of Information Systems Study Program at Universitas Widyatama took proactive steps by holding an inspirational public lecture. With the theme “Next Gen Cities: AI Solution for Traffic and Load Optimization”, this event was held on Monday, April 14th, 2025. The event clearly discussed how artificial intelligence (AI) can be the answer to various urban problems, one of which is traffic congestion.
During the session held in the Universitas Widyatama Seminar Room, expert speaker Tri Basuki Kurniawan S.Kom., M.Eng., Ph.D., from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, presented his vision of the next generation city. He described how the integration of AI-based smart systems can create a more efficient, sustainable, and responsive city. The students in attendance gained a comprehensive understanding of their crucial role as future information systems experts.
This public lecture was not only a forum for knowledge transfer, but also served as a catalyst for innovation. By seeing firsthand the applications of the technology they are learning, students are motivated to think critically and creatively in designing solutions. This initiative reaffirms the commitment of the Widyatama University Bachelor of Information Systems Study Program to produce graduates who are not only technically superior, but also capable of making a real contribution to society.
