Development Plan

Widyatama Development Plan describes the understanding and link between the holistic idealism of University / Yayasan Widyatama (Values, Vision & Mission) with the establishment of Widyatama graduate profile in line with the history of the University. Economic and management discipline becomes the basic color of the core competency of “business & commerce” University Widyatama which is poured in the content of learning materials (content) and learning system (process). In relation to the future of national, regional and international economies that are or are in the direction of the market economy system, competitive behavior will be an unavoidable necessity for graduates, either as entrepreneurs or private enterprise employee.

Therefore, in accordance with the characteristics of the market economy system, the profile of Widyatama graduates should represent competive and adaptive competencies (Adaptive & Competitive Competency – ACC). The competence is built through the establishment of generic competence value (support) in the mastery of English and Information & Communication Technology (ICT) as well as special competencies (main) are defined in accordance with the characteristics of the field of study and the demands of their respective professions. The profile is expected to provide adequate competitiveness (competitive advantage) and high educational relevance.

To produce graduates with high competence and global competitiveness, Widyatama University has adopted SAP (System Application and Product) certification learning pattern, one of the application software used by 80,000 countries in the world including 250 companies in Indonesia. Three of the five faculties at Widyatama University have applied the formal SAP learning method followed by an average of about 2000 students per year, a model of learning in the form of certification. Graduates of Widyatama University who already have SAP certification will get bigger opportunities from companies that have implemented SAP applications.

Furthermore, Widyatama University is one of the elements of improving the quality of human resources of Indonesia through education, which is further expected and strived to form a comprehensive and sustainable quality improvement for the nation and state.

The education system can only be said to succeed if the educational process provides value and competitive advantage to its graduates which is also the value and competitive advantage of educational institutions. The education system requires the active involvement of consumers (students) in the process of value creation.

The necessity of the involvement of students in the process of creating the expected competency values requires the re-orientation of the classical learning system to the perspective that views the students as the subject (Student Centered Learning), and the competence based curriculum.

Thus, the central issue of the learning process or value creation in the educational system is the formation of students’ competence which is the manifestation of the mastery of the four pillars of education “learning to know, to do, to live together and long life learning” in line with the shift of the 21st century universal Values changing from the concept of economic growth towards the development of humanity

In that context, professional skills (hardskills) and personal skills (softskills) are no longer seen as two separate units, but are integral to learning. On the other side, the development of the medium employment sector that has been towards ICT based management system and globalization with all its aspects will certainly be the driving factor toward the demand for ICT / ICT control in various professions.

The above reality colored the vision and mission of Widyatama University and the majority of programs developed in the WDP (Widyatama Development Program) characterized by the creation of competency values in personal skills (softskills), English, ICT mastery in addition to professional skills in accordance with the field of study.
