Research Policy

The 2016-2020 National Research Agenda has a broad framework for integrated research, which summarized in the research themes of science and technology, social humanity and basic science. Widyatama University (UTama) as one of Indonesia’s higher educaton intitutions, has a vision that is in line with this, namely “To become a superior and independent university in Indonesia that produce professionals who meet the needs of industry and society and are able to compete in the global environment in 2028”. To achieve this vision, research-related missions have been established: to organize educational, research and PkM programs that support the development and application of science, technology and art, as well as to create an academic atmosphere that supports the implementation of teaching and learning, research and PkM.

UTama’s further research will focus on the following priority research themes: sustainable infrastructure, excellent business processes, and rich content and value. The field of sustainable infrastructure research covers the balance between economic (profit), social (people) and environmental (planet) aspects. Business accountability, performance measurement and competency are the focus of research in the excellent business process. Meanwhile, in the field of rich content and value research, the emphasis is on the creative economy, namely the growth of ideas that are transformed into economic value.

The implementation of faculty research has been supported by centralized library facilities at the University level in the form of providing textbooks, accredited national scientific journals and indexed international journals in both soft and hard copy formats . The library has now obtained A accreditation and has provided digital library services. A number of journals have been subscribed for research purposes including: ProQuest, Emerald, and EBSCO.
