The Indonesian Logistics Association (ALI) – Bandung will hold the ALI-Bandung Gathering on Saturday, February 25, 2006, from 9:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The event, which will take place in the Seminar Room – Rectorate Building, 4th floor, Widyatama University, Jl Cikutra 204, Bandung, is open to the public as well as ALI members. In addition to participants from various companies, the event will be attended by representatives from institutions related to logistics, as well as academics from several universities.
ALI-Bandung is a representative of ALI, which is headquartered in Jakarta. ALI-Bandung, which has been active since November 2005, is currently working to build a logistics community for the Bandung area (West Java). ALI-Bandung is currently chaired by Setijadi, M.T., who is also the Head of the Industrial Engineering Department at Widyatama University.
The Indonesian Logistics Association (ALI) itself is a professional organization open to Indonesian citizens who work as practitioners, academics, regulators, or observers in the field of supply chain & logistics management in Indonesia. ALI’s objectives are to help improve the quality of Indonesian human resources in the supply chain and logistics management profession, as well as to serve as a forum for communication within the supply chain and logistics industry in Indonesia. To date, ALI has more than 1,500 members from various companies and institutions related to the field.
The upcoming ALI-Bandung Gathering will be a very important event, given the presence of Ramlee Ibrahim, Ph.D., CIRM., a world-renowned logistics expert from Singapore. Ramlee has more than 20 years of experience in shipping, manufacturing, retail, and technology. He also has a strong understanding of logistics, materials management, procurement, and fulfillment. Ramlee is one of the few people in the world who holds a certificate in Integrated Resource Management from APICS. At the ALI-Bandung Gathering, Ramlee will deliver a presentation on “Supply Chain Operations Reference Model (SCOR) and the Supply Chain Council,” which will be valuable knowledge for participants.
At the event, Didi Teguh Pribadi, M.T. from the Logistics & Supply Chain Center (LOGIC) – Widyatama University will present “Introduction to Software Applications for Logistics & Supply Chain.” The presentation is the result of logistics software development conducted by LOGIC in an effort to bridge the academic world with the industrial world. Some of the software that will be demonstrated include: Loading Management, Vehicle Routing Management, and Fleet Management. Currently, LOGIC is implementing this software in several companies for loading and loading reports, determining the best routes, and managing transport fleets, especially for maintenance activities, such as spare parts, tires, insurance, drivers, and to determine the economic condition of a means of transport.
