The Video After School Volume 1 workshop program is a collaborative effort between the Faculty of Visual Communication Design (FDKV) at Widyatama University and Cerahati Artwork. This activity has been running for 3 months (December 2005 – March 2006), starting from the preparation phase (production), shooting activities (production), to the editing process (post-production). The results are now ready for appreciation: 10 video clips produced by 10 different groups (each consisting of 4 people) can be evaluated together. In detail, the works of the participants in the Video After School Volume 1 workshop can be categorized as “broadcast-worthy” with a quality comparable to that of professional creative workers’ video clips.
Collaborating with several artists and labels who are willing to have their music videos produced by the participants. The difference with other workshops is that participants can meet clients face to face, so that their work will become a usable portfolio. Clients include Seuriesu Band, Netral, Project Pop, Nugie, Seringai, Ten2Five, REA, The Rain, Dan Band, and The Upstairs.
It is hoped that this screening and open house can become a medium for sharing the creative process and at the same time encourage the expansion of the graduates’ insight, knowledge, and adaptability in the industry and society. The objectives that are expected to be achieved include exchanging insights, skills, and understanding of the production process and creative industry in the field of music videos, as well as encouraging the adaptability of lecturers and students in academic development, both in lectures and in their professional lives.
