A total of 350 students from 30 high schools and vocational schools from Bandung, Cianjur, Cikampek, Karawang, Garut, and other cities in West Java participated in enlivening the 2007 Widyatama Language Week, which took place from February 20 to 21, 2007, at the Graha Widyatama Theater and the 4th Floor Seminar Room of the Widyatama Campus Rectorate Building, Jalan Cikutra, Bandung.
The series of activities held included British and Japanese film screenings, teaching demos, a writing contest, a news reading contest, an English singing contest, speech contests, a Japanese acoustic performance, a kana contest, a shuji contest, and various Japanese cultural demonstrations ranging from Japanese cooking demonstrations to Aikido martial arts demonstrations.
This annual event, which is held regularly every year, is one of the activities aimed at fostering and stimulating interest among high school students to learn, understand, and apply foreign languages, particularly English and Japanese. ***
