A total of 30 students and teaching staff from Widyatama University departed for 3 countries, Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand, for an International Study & Business Assessment program from April 8 to 18, 2007. This activity is expected to be useful for students in comparing the knowledge they have acquired on campus and building international relationships, so that they can make use of their experience after completing their studies.
The program included visits to various universities and leading companies in the three countries. The studies involved attending seminars by academic speakers and business practitioners in various industrial sectors, similar to the study visits by San Beda Philippine students to Widyatama in February 2006 and students from the University of Passau in Germany.
This International Study & Business Assessment program is in line with the quality policy of Widyatama University and the Directorate General of Higher Education to improve higher education towards international standards, namely producing professional graduates who have excellence and competitiveness and always develop themselves in the global community.
This program is part of the teaching and learning process, which requires students to write reports and be assessed on their studies and business assessments at leading companies in the three neighboring countries.
Meanwhile, for the 2007/2008 academic year, Widyatama University has opened an International Program in collaboration with Troy University Alabama USA and Institut Putra Melaka Malaysia. This program offers students the opportunity to earn an international degree. The program is conducted at Widyatama for years 1 & 2 and at Troy University or Institut Putra Malaka Malaysia for years 3 & 4.
