Sunan Kalijaga State Islamic University – Yogyakarta Benchmarking Study to Widyatama

The quality assurance system currently being developed in various higher education institutions requires these institutions to continuously improve their quality in order to enhance their competitiveness in the future. This is related to the visit made by Sunan Kalijaga State Islamic University (UIN), Yogyakarta to Widyatama University on Wednesday, January 16, 2008. The benchmarking study discussed matters such as quality assurance systems, admission systems, graduate career development systems, and information technology implementation. The group of 20 people was led by Dr. H. Sukamta, M.A., Assistant Rector for Academic Affairs at UIN Sunan Kalijaga, and was welcomed directly by the Rector of Widyatama University, DR. Mame S. Sutoko, Ir., DEA, along with the university staff. On this occasion, the Rector of Widyatama welcomed the benchmarking study by UIN Sunan Kalijaga as a form of comparison with the quality assurance system currently implemented by Widyatama through ISO 9001: 2000 certification. During this short visit, the UIN delegation took the time to visit several educational facilities at Widyatama. The visit began at the student art gallery of the Faculty of Visual Communication Design (DKV), the logistics laboratory of the Industrial Engineering Department, and the computer laboratory of the Computer Science Department. The event concluded with the exchange of souvenirs between both parties and a group photo.
