Nurul Mega Martini, a 2007 Japanese language student at Widyatama University, won first place in the Sakubun Group A competition and third place in the Chokkai Group A competition at the 34th Bunkasai (Japanese Language & Culture Week) event, which took place on May 30 & 31, 2008 at Padjadjaran University, Jatinangor. Meanwhile, Arnold Harry Kristanto, a 2006 student, won first place in the Quiz competition. The 34th Bunkasai was attended by 8 universities in the city of Bandung, including UNPAD, UPI, STBA YAPARI, UKM, UNIKOM, and Univ. Nasional Pasim. The competitions held during this event included the Speech Contest, Kana Contest, Sakubun Contest, Quiz, Kanji Contest, Chokkai Contest, and Shuji Contest.
