Two young entrepreneurs from Bandung won the prestigious Indonesian Small and Medium Business Entrepreneur Award (Ismbea) 2009. They are Iwan Ridwansyah, 33, founder of Widyatama Entrepreneur Community Bandung, and Fauzi Rachmanto, 39, founder of PT. System Design Group Indonesia (SDGI), who is also known as an entrepreneurial motivational speaker. Iwan and Fauzi, along with 21 other successful entrepreneurs from various regions, received the Ismbea 2009 award at an entrepreneur community event at Sudirman City Walk, Jakarta, on Saturday (14/11). The plaques and certificates were presented directly by former Minister of Manpower and Transmigration Erman Soeparno to each award recipient. Ismbea is an award for successful young entrepreneurs who started their businesses from scratch. This annual event is held by Wirausaha dan Keuangan magazine.
Editor-in-Chief of Wirausaha dan Keuangan magazine Isdiyanto said that Iwan Ridwansyah deserved this year’s Ismbea for all his innovations and dedication in building an entrepreneurial community as a method of entrepreneurial learning at the Widyatama University campus in Bandung. “He provides direct introduction and practice of entrepreneurship to students,” said Isdiyanto.
After receiving the award, Iwan Ridwansyah admitted that he founded the Widyatama Entrepreneur Community to spread the “virus” of entrepreneurship among students. “The point is to stop thinking about looking for work. It’s time to create your own job opportunities,” said the secretary of the Widyatama University Bachelor of Management Study Program.
Meanwhile, Fauzi Rachmanto received an award for his dedication to the development of entrepreneurship in Indonesia through various entrepreneurship learning forums. “In addition to spreading the spirit of entrepreneurship, he does not hesitate to share his management knowledge and maintain performance,” said Isdiyanto.
Meanwhile, 21 other entrepreneurs who also won Ismbea 2009 were Ririen PudjiLestari (owner of Citra Persada, Surabaya), Rubiyah Sardjono (owner of Bengkel Motor X-tra, Surabaya), Yudiana Indriastuti (lecturer and owner of a fashion retail business, founder of the Business Communication Study Institute, Surabaya), Harijanto (owner of PT. Errastisa Purnama, Surabaya), Fathur Rozi (owner of Raja Sendal, Surabaya), Christopher Emile Jayanata (owner of Pronik, Jakarta), and Agung Nugroho Susanto (owner of Simply Fresh Laundry, Yogyakarta).Then Budi Stianjaya (owner of Bebek Kendil, Jakarta), John Allan (founder of Bauhaus Living, Jakarta), Emmy (founder of PT. Global Anak Mandiri, Jakarta), Budi Setiawan (owner of Budi Setiawan Group, Jakarta), Salma Dian Priharjati (owner of Pt. Dian Kenanga, Jakarta), Yulia Astuti (founder of Salon Moz5, Jakarta), Fajar S. Pramono (author of the book Spesialis Utang di Bank [Debt Specialist at the Bank], Jakarta), and Haryo Ardito (daily chairman of the Indonesian Management Association of DKI Jakarta).
