450 Students Receive Bawaku (Special Mayor’s Assistance) for Students
A total of 450 students from Bandung City received Bawaku assistance for students from the Bandung city government on Tuesday (7/17) at the launch and motivational training event for the Bawaku program for students at the Widyatama Campus. Before the event began, attendees received motivational speeches from Mario Teguh.
The launch and motivational training event for the Bawaku program was held in the hall of Widyatama University and attended by Rector Dr. Mame S. Sutoko, Ir. DEA and chair of the Widyatama Foundation Prof. Dr. Hj. Koesbandijah, Ak. Msi. Ak, as well as leaders of the Widyatama rectorate and foundation.
The total assistance provided by the Bandung City Government for Bawaku students is around 2 billion rupiah, distributed to 42 domestic and foreign universities, with various majors and levels, each receiving educational assistance of around Rp. 2,500,000 for undergraduate students, Rp. 20,000,000 for master’s students, and Rp. 25,000,000 for doctoral students.
At the event, Dr. Dada Rosada expressed his hope that this scholarship program would help students who are completing their studies but need financial assistance. In addition, he hoped that this assistance would motivate students to study harder and more diligently, because education is like a vehicle that can improve the quality of life. Hopefully, with this assistance, many students will be helped, said Dada, and he hopes that in the future there will be a change, with the number of bawaku recipients increasing by 100 more people.
Meanwhile, according to the chairman of the Bandung City DPRD, Erwan Setiawan, he greatly appreciates the bawaku student program. “I really appreciate this program because it can help students complete their education,” he said.
Yayat Hendayana, one of the recipients of the bawaku scholarship, expressed his gratitude, saying that with this assistance he was able to continue his research. “Before this assistance, I was almost unable to continue my research, but after receiving help from the city government through the bawaku program, I was finally able to continue my research,” he said.
