Hundreds of prospective students’ parents attend Parents Gathering

On Saturday (August 1), Widyatama University held an Open House and Parents Gathering event. It was attended by parents and prospective students at Widyatama. The event began at 8:00 a.m. with a performance of the Sara Odori dance by students from the Japanese Language Study Program, Faculty of Languages, Widyatama University. The first speech was given by Mr. T. Ontowiryo AbdulKadir, S.E., MBA, as Chairman of the Foundation Management Board, followed by a presentation about the Widyatama Foundation.

The event, which was held in the Widyatama Auditorium Hall, aimed to be a gathering between parents and the academic community, as well as a demonstration of the Widyatama Foundation’s strong commitment to quality higher education. Also present was Vice Rector I (Warek) Prof. Dr. Davidescu Cristiana Victoria as a speaker on the perspective of quality education at Widyatama University. The invited guests were presented with an interesting presentation from the Vice Rector for Learning and Student Affairs, particularly regarding the input “consumed” by Widyatama students in their daily teaching and learning activities (KBM). With 7 parameters for lecturer qualifications, Widyatama graduates are always in high demand in the job market or in their roles as entrepreneurs.

Great enthusiasm came from the parents of prospective students.

The appearance of Mr. Pipin Sukandi, S.E., M.M. as a motivational speaker added to the excitement of the event. In his presentation, Pipin explained the difference between individuals who attend college and those who do not. “By attending college, especially at Widyatama University, you will learn how to manage your right and left brain in everyday life. It is not enough to only attend high school when you choose to become an entrepreneur. You also need to have emotional intelligence in business so that your business runs systematically,” said Pipin.

“This event is very good, I can hardly find any shortcomings from Widyatama University,” said one of the parents of prospective students who attended the parents gathering event. With this event, a mediation and education regarding higher education was created from the parents of prospective students for the Widyatama Foundation and community regarding higher education.

This was the first time for the Widyatama community to welcome prospective students and their parents to foster synergy between prospective students and Widyatama University. The event was enlivened by a performance from Indonesian IDOL, Sarah Nurzakah, who is also an alumnus of the English Language Studies Program at the Faculty of Languages, Widyatama University.
