The enthusiasm of SMAN 6 Garut and SMAN 1 Purwakarta during their visit to Universitas Widyatama

Thursday (12/17), high school students visited again. This time, two high schools from two different cities participated. The first group came from SMAN 6 Garut (http://goo.gl/gf9TsE) and the second group came from SMAN 1 Purwakarta (http://sman1purwakarta.sch.id/). The two groups arrived at different times, with the first group from SMAN 6 Garut arriving at Universitas Widyatama (UTama), followed by the second group 20 minutes later. The event, which was held in the theater room on the 6th floor of Building B of Widyatama University, began at 10:00 a.m. The opening was greeted with several welcoming remarks from the Marketing Bureau of Universitas Widyatama which was represented by Edi Witono as the Head of the Promotion Subdivision of the Marketing Bureau. This was followed by a speech from the school representative, Mr. Sarif, as the Deputy Head of the Curriculum of SMA Negeri 6 Garut.

The presence of Mr. Pipin Sukandi, S.E., M.M., as a motivator and representative of the http://if program, www.widyatama.ac.id/) with its robotics, as well as a live broadcast from Widyatama Community TV, UTama TV (http://goo.gl/nqW4dv), was well received by the students who were about to take the National Exam. They were given “advice” in an entertaining style by the motivational speaker, who is also a permanent lecturer at the Faculty of Business and Management.

The group’s visit to UTama was to provide high school graduates and their equivalents with an understanding of higher education. This is because high school graduates do not yet know which university they will attend after graduating from high school and what major they will choose when they go to college. In addition to providing this understanding, the visit was also used as a means to provide more detailed information about Widyatama University. At the end of the event, the group and the visitation committee held a group photo session to foster familiarity and good relations between the two institutions.
