History of Widyatama Plaza

Studying at Widyatama and don’t know the meaning of L’Arc d’Academia? So let’s go back to history. Academia comes from the word Academeia, the name of a place outside the city of Athens, which was dedicated to the mythical legend of the hero Akademos. Athena herself is the name of the goddess of wisdom in Greek mythology.

L’Arc d’Academia can thus be interpreted symbolically as a tribute, upholding the spirit of Academia, the birthplace of Plato’s teachings, or the spirit of learning and the accumulation of knowledge in cultural and scientific communities. It can also be seen as the main gateway to the accumulation of knowledge.

The elliptical circle and the arch of the wall as a whole represent the continuity of the waves of increasing intelligence and dignity of the nation that are expected to arise from a drop of Widyatama knowledge, as depicted in the Widyatama University emblem. The wave of knowledge begins at the centroid where the petrified wood is located, a representation of the firm commitment, loyalty, and dedication of the Widyatama Foundation, its founders and collaborators, and its successors to education that is impervious to heat and rain.
