Widyatama University is the favorite campus among prospective students in Bandung. Interestingly, tuition fees are not the main factor when prospective students choose a private university. They place more importance on the quality of graduates and the quality of lecturers or teaching staff.
The factors considered when choosing a private university (PTS) are the quality of its graduates, the quality of its teaching staff, complete campus facilities, graduates working in various fields, teaching and learning methods, well-known university names, affordable tuition fees, big university names, scholarship programs, comfortable campus environments, good campus discipline, many famous graduates, and student admission selection.
When viewed by region, Usakti is the most popular PTS in Jakarta, UII is the most popular in Yogyakarta, Dian Nuswantoro University is the most popular in Semarang, Surabaya University and North Sumatra Islamic University are the most popular in Medan and Makassar. This analysis is the result of research conducted by Koran Tempo in 2014 (for details, see Koran Tempo, Thursday, November 27, 2014, page 19, table 1).
