On Friday (10/28/2016), Universitas Widyatama Business and Management Faculty lecturer Ayuningtyas Yuli Hapsari, S.Ip., M.M., along with five Business & Management Faculty students, departed for the Wuxi Institute of Technology, China (WXIT) to participate in the “Reciprocal Program.” The visit aimed to gain firsthand experience of the academic atmosphere and culture in the Land of the Bamboo Curtain. In addition to lecturers and students from Widyatama University, this activity was also attended by other universities, including Trisakti Tourism College and Trisakti Transportation Management College. Upon arrival in Wuxi City, the Indonesian delegation was warmly welcomed by Ms. Doris, a staff member from the WXIT International Cooperation Division.

The arrival of the group from Indonesia was warmly welcomed by the Rectorate, especially the Dean, the Head of the Management Faculty Study Program, and several WXIT students. The purpose of the group’s visit to WXIT was to attend a short course and several professional training sessions before visiting the “World Internet of Things Expo”. After receiving a brief presentation from the Dean, the delegation was taken on a tour of the campus to see the facilities available, especially the sophisticated laboratories owned by WXIT, which make it easier for students to understand the real working environment.
The industrial visit to the “World Internet of Things Expo” at the Wuxi Exhibition Center was accompanied by Mr. Jiang Hongcheng (Mr. Collin) and Mrs. Huang Rong (Evelyn). This exhibition is a five-yearly event and is the largest event held in China.

The opening of the “Reciprocal Program” began with an introduction to the city of Wuxi, the milestones of WXIT, its programs, and the teaching and learning process. The event was opened by the Rector and the presentation was given by Ms. Alice (Head of the WXIT Cooperation Division). The event closed with a symbolic presentation of souvenirs from representative lecturers from Widyatama University and WXIT.
The group received several Professional Training sessions from several WXIT lecturers. The following are some of the training materials:
- Corporate finance by Ms. Dai Yinan
- Personal Financial Planning by Ms. Zhang Ling
- Rural Tourism Economy by Ms. Huang Rong
- Financial Analyst by Ms. Yu Zhenwei
This activity lasted for 14 days from October 28 to November 10. The group not only visited WXIT and the exhibition but also several places in the city that are known as the Clean & Smart City in China, including the Wuxi Museum, Old Town, Grand Buddha Liangshan, Sun Yat Sen Mausoleum, and Confucius Temple in Nanjing, Jiangshu. These locations feature historical artifacts of the city.
