New Certification, Widyatama Graduates Are More Prepared to Compete in the Global Arena

On Tuesday (February 15th), Universitas Widyatama (UTama) held a signing ceremony for a cooperation agreement signed by the Rector of Widyatama University, Dr. H. Islahuzzaman, S.E., M.Si., Ak.CA., and the Director of The Indonesia Capital Market Institute (TICMI), Dwi Shara Soekarno. This cooperation agreement is a capital market education cooperation program in higher education, whereby within a certain period of time, the university is expected to be able to independently organize regular education programs that refer to the training syllabus and certification of Securities Broker Representatives (WPPE). Also present was the Director of Transaction Supervision and Compliance of PT. Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) Hamdi Hassyarbaini.

In his speech, Hamdi said that there are still many opportunities available in the job market in the field of stock exchange related to stocks. There are many graduates available, but they do not meet the IDX standard qualifications to become practitioners. UTama is the first campus to produce graduates with official certification, thus providing opportunities for its graduates to join the world of securities trading.

“The Indonesian capital market is currently growing rapidly. Amidst the increasing growth of the capital market in Indonesia, professional personnel are needed to support the capital market,” he said on the sidelines of the signing of the cooperation agreement between TICMI and UTama. To meet this need, the IDX established TICMI with the aim of providing opportunities for the public to obtain integrated and comprehensive capital market education and training, particularly in preparation for global competition. In addition, it also serves as an effort to socialize the development of the Indonesian capital market to the public.
