Sunday, March 27th, 2017, Head of the West Java Provincial Tourism & Culture Office Mrs. Hj. Ida Hernida, S.H., M.Si. held a socialization event on tourism awareness and the seven charms of tourism, and Head of the West Java Provincial Communication and Information Office Dr. H. Anton Gustoni, M.Si. held a socialization event on the dissemination of public information on development in West Java, which took place at SMKN 1 Pangandaran.

The event was attended by local government officials, Pangandaran Regent Ida Nurlaila, Pangandaran Deputy Regent H. Adang Hadari, West Java KPID Chair Dr. Dedeh Faridah, M.Si., and even Governor Dr. Hj. Netty Prasetiyani Heryawan was also present at the event. In addition, tourism and arts practitioners in Pangandaran Regency also attended and enlivened the event, such as those from Margacinta Tourism Village, who performed Badud Cijulang art.
Sapta Pesona is an elaboration of the concept of tourism awareness related to the support and role of the community as hosts in efforts to create a conducive environment and atmosphere that can encourage the growth and development of the tourism industry through the realization of seven elements in Sapta Pesona.

This tourism awareness campaign is also a research and community service project conducted by the Information Systems Study Program of the Faculty of Engineering at Universitas Widyatama, where they contributed to the creation of a free website for lodging and MSMEs.
The Head of the Information Systems Study Program at Widyatama University, Dr. M. Rozahi Istambul, S.Kom., M.T., said, “There are around 550 websites that have been built in West Java Province, and this visit to Pangandaran is the second after previously creating 75 websites for MSMEs in the Pangandaran Beach area and a geographic information system website application for Pangandaran Regency in 2015,” he said.
“These research and community service activities,” Rozahi continued, “will result in the creation of 150 websites consisting of 80 MSMEs and 70 homestays in Pangandaran, bringing the total number of websites created to date to 700, which have been provided free of charge,” he added.
