Competitiveness of Widyatama Multimedia Study Program

Established in 1999, the Widyatama Faculty of Communication and Visual Arts, formerly known as the College of Visual Communication Design, is an educational institution that was founded with the aim of nurturing creative individuals in the field of multimedia and professional pathways to meet the needs of the creative industry. The Widyatama Multimedia study program is under the Faculty of Visual Communication Design (FDKV). FDKV Widyatama is supervised by permanent lecturers who are alumni of FSRD ITB who have completed Master’s and Doctoral programs and are active as practitioners/professionals in DKV so that students not only learn theory but also absorb the latest experiences in the dynamic professional world. Supported by modern facilities, a learning system, and a curriculum tailored to market needs, the Multimedia Program at Widyatama prepares students to solve communication problems through various visual media, including digital motion media, to create targeted visual communication in an aesthetically pleasing package.

Students of the Widyatama Multimedia Study Program are enriched with entrepreneurship skills, character building, and global-business start-up skills so that they are able to respond to the challenges of the era of global competition. The readiness of graduates to respond to these challenges is reflected in the results of the Widyatama graduate tracer survey, which shows that even before obtaining their academic degrees, graduates have been absorbed into the world of work, either as employees or business owners/entrepreneurs.

The Widyatama Multimedia Study Program has the following areas of specialization: Broadcasting, Game Developer, Film Editor, Film Industry, Motion Graphic Artist, 3D Design, Advertising Agency, Multimedia Design, User Interface Design, Interaction Design and User Experience, Multimedia Management.

Graduates of Widyatama’s Multimedia D3 program have very broad career prospects amid the rise of the broadcasting and advertising world, including 3D Artist, Animator, Web Designer, Video Editor, Visual Jockey, Game Artist, Visual Graphic Artist, Digital Painter, Video Clip Maker, as well as creative divisions in the advertising and television industries.
