45th Anniversary Celebration of the Widyatama Foundation

To commemorate its 45th anniversary, the Widyatama Foundation held an Anniversary Celebration at the Widyatama Auditorium (GSG) on Saturday (January 6). Attending the celebration were several West Java figures, including the Regional Secretary of West Java Province, Dr. Iwa Karniwa, S.E., M.M., Ak., CA., PIA. and the wife of the Mayor of Bandung, Atalia Praratya. Both figures were welcomed directly by the Foundation’s leadership and the Widyatama University Rectorate.

The event, themed “Commitment to Building Integrity and Loyalty,” featured a series of activities, including the recitation of verses from the Holy Qur’an and Saritilawah, as well as a religious sermon. The celebration began with the recitation of verses from the Holy Qur’an by Akhy Dzaky and Saritilawah by Siti Widia, both of whom are students of the Widyatama University Islamic Student Association (KAMI).

The Chair of the Widyatama Foundation Management Board, Mrs. Sri Lestari A. Roespinoedji, S.H., conveyed the importance of building integrity and loyalty among all elements of both the Foundation and the Rectorate. For 45 years as a higher education institution, Widyatama has been firmly committed to providing “SERVICE” to the community and the state, said Sri during the opening of the celebration. Furthermore, Sri added that this service is inseparable from honesty, consistency, commitment, courage, and trustworthiness, which stem from self-awareness and inner voice. This SERVICE is also inseparable from loyalty to the principles embraced and adherence to ethics and aesthetics as a mandate.

Meanwhile, Dr. Ali Hasan Bahar conveyed that the theme promoted by the Widyatama Foundation was very good because integrity is selfless and always adheres to a firm principle. Integrity does not expect gratitude; integrity is only friends with the voice of the heart, the voice of God. Ust Ali added, “Integrity is an attitude of honesty, consistency, commitment, courage, and trustworthiness that arises from the deepest self-awareness, originating from the voice of the heart.” This theme and discussion are in accordance with the word of Allah in the Qur’an [QS Qaf: 18], namely “No word is spoken but there is an angel watching over it (namely the angel who records deeds) who is always present”.
