Collaboration between DKV Unpas and DKV UTama to Realize Independent Learning at Independent Campuses

Leaders and lecturers from the Faculty of Visual Communication Design (DKV) at Widyatama University (UTama) and Pasundan University (Unpas) recently held a focus group discussion (FGD).

Held at Cafe Armor, Dago, Bandung City, Tuesday, June 8, 2021.

They discussed the preparation of plans for independent studies/projects and student exchanges for students from both campuses through inter-institutional cooperation.

Deden Maulana, Dean of the DKV Faculty at Widyatama University, who was also present, said that the program is one of the efforts to realize the Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) program in the 2021-2022 academic year.

The program will be developed based on the MBKM guidelines and manuals.

This is to ensure that each implementation is on target, while also improving the achievements of UTama and Unpas students in the future.

Equally important, said Deden, is that each lecturer can play an active role in encouraging, planning, testing, correcting, and evaluating each of their students.

He added that the main objective of the program is to realize the innovative ideas and works of students at both campuses. These ideas and works can later be entered into competitions at the national and even international levels.

“This is also to encourage UTama and Unpas students who have passion to realize and develop works that can be taken into account, as works that are beneficial to the wider community,” said Deden, Thursday (10/6/2021).

In the program, Deden said that there was something interesting, because the program could also involve students from various disciplines, both at Unpas and UTama.

According to Deden, the key to the success of universities in implementing the MBKM policy is an adaptive curriculum that is able to adjust to the times.

In addition, there needs to be collaboration and cooperation between study programs and other parties that can support the success of the student learning process.

The representatives from Unpas who attended the FGD were Boy Irwan, Deputy Dean II of FISS Unpas, Fadhly Abdillah, Head of the DKV Unpas Study Program, H Agus Setiawan, Tata Kartasudjana, Purmaningrum, Dicky Purnama, and other Unpas lecturers.

Meanwhile, from UTama, besides Deden, there were also Rudi Farid, Head of the Graphic Design Study Program, Asep Deni, Head of the Multimedia Design Study Program, and Budiman, Head of the Film and Television Study Program.
