Some time ago, the Information Technology Study Program, Faculty of Engineering, Widyatama University (UTama) held a Community Service (PkM) activity.
The activity took the form of a webinar ser
ies with the theme “Cyber Security Awareness” for lecturers, students, practitioners, and the general public.
The event was held virtually via YouTube and Zoom on Saturday, August 28th, 2021.
The event featured keynote speakers Eva Noor, CEO of PT Xynexis International, and SY. Yuliani, S.Kom., MT., a lecturer at the UTama Informatics Study Program and founder of Syhoxanalyzer, a hoax news detection engine.
The webinar, which focused on cyber security awareness literacy, discussed cyber security issues that can affect individuals and operations in a country.
According to Yuliani, the risks that arise are varied, such as data leaks, financial losses, and a decline in reputation.
“Cyber security awareness aims to increase the awareness of internet users. Where internet users are difficult to control is humans. Here, humans often become the initial defense ‘human firewall’ in securing assets and information when interacting with the system,” said Yuliani, Tuesday (9/28/2021).
“Humans are the front line of defense against attacks on information security systems and, at the same time, the weakest link in information and cyber security,” she added.
It is known that the implementation of these activities is inseparable from the financial assistance provided by LP2M UTama.
According to Yuliani, these activities are also in line with Law Number 20 of 2003 concerning the National Education System and Government Regulation Number 2 of 2019 concerning the Obligation of Local Governments to Improve Services for Early Childhood Education.
Yuliani said that in practice, this is able to facilitate the professional development of educators and early childhood education personnel with information technology-based management skills.
“In this activity, the Informatics Engineering Study Program also involved collaboration between lecturers and students,” she concluded.
