A total of 20 Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Bandung participated in the “Optimization” Digital Marketing Training for Businesses held by the Information Systems Study Program, Universitas Widyatama (UTama). It was held on Wednesday, December 20th, 2021.
This activity is one of the forms of Community Service (PkM) from the Information Systems lecturers at UTama.
Iwan Rijayana, S.Kom., M,Kom., Head of the activity cluster, explained that the Information Systems Study Program at UTama collaborated with the Bandung City Trade and Industry Office (DISDAGIN) to hold this activity.
“Most MSMEs already use digital media, such as Instagram and Facebook, and are already listed on several marketplaces,” Iwan said recently.
On this occasion, MSME participants were given insights into the use of digital marketing.

In particular, the “optimization” of technology in digital marketing, one of which is the use and utilization of SEO, which is a step in optimizing marketing through digital means.
Additionally, participants were also provided with insights into the utilization of digital marketing, particularly “branding.”
This includes an introduction to digitization, branding elements such as logos, names, and social media. It also covers digital branding, which is the process of building an SME brand online using websites, applications, and social media.
“This activity involved 10 students and 4 lecturers from the Information Systems Study Program. Our lecturers were involved as facilitators to solve problems faced by MSMEs, especially in branding MSME products,” said Iwan.
The lecturers involved were Iwan, S.S., M.A., and Dwi, S.S., M.A., from the Department of Information Systems, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, University of Indonesia.
The event was attended by the Head of Distribution of Essential Goods at the Bandung City Trade, Industry, and Cooperatives Agency (DISDAGIN), Rohman Agus Jatnika, S.T., M.M., Founder of Adelie Studio, Sandi Pratama as a guest speaker, and Head of the Information Systems Study Program, Sri Lestari, Ir., M.T.
Rohman Agus Jatnika expressed his gratitude to the Information Systems Study Program at UTama for providing digital marketing training for MSMEs in the Bandung City DISDAGIN community.
According to him, the activity was very beneficial, and he hoped that it would support the empowerment of MSMEs in Bandung City, especially in facing the era of society 5.0.
Iwan also explained that the PkM was made possible thanks to funding from LP2M UTama.
