The Chair of the Widyatama Foundation Advisory Board, Nunik Juniati, SE., MBA, on Tuesday (23/08) welcomed and greeted thousands of prospective students of Widyatama University (UTama) online at the University Introduction Program (PPU) event from the UTama campus in the city of Bandung.
To the 1,592 out of 2,102 prospective students currently participating in the PPU, the Chair of the Widyatama Foundation reminded them of the values that serve as guidelines for the entire academic community, known as DJITU ++.
According to Nunik Juniati, DJITU is an acronym with positive meanings that the academic community should implement in order to successfully achieve good life goals. DJITU stands for Discipline, Honesty, Innovation, Diligence, and Perseverance. The two plus signs (++) mean that in implementing the DJITU values, it is necessary to add the values of a Sense of Belonging and Continuous Improvement.
These values of the academic community were initiated by the founder of the Widyatama Foundation, the late Prof. Dr. Koebandiah, and then the plus-plus (++) was added by the first Rector of Widyatama University, Dr. Mame S Soetoko.
Accompanied by the Head of the UTama Career Center, Yelli Eka Sumadhinata, S.E., M.Si., Ak. as the moderator, Nunik, who is also one of Prof. Koesbandiah’s grandchildren, added:
“If we want to be successful, we must have clear goals, and the DJITU ++ values can guide us there.”
In front of all PPU participants who were enthusiastically listening and paying attention, Nunik Juniati detailed the meaning of DJITU values, namely Discipline, which for students means obeying the applicable rules; Honesty is the main asset for gaining trust; Innovative means an initiative that arises from outside the norm; Diligent and Persistent are interrelated and mean a process, which if carried out sincerely, can result in expertise.
According to the Chair of the Widyatama Foundation, the meaning of Plus-Plus (++) is;
We believe that a sense of belonging to the institution will influence our success. By participating in all campus activities, you will realize that you can achieve continuous improvement. As an organization, we must continue to grow by improving ourselves and setting clear goals.
At the end of her presentation, Nunik said, “To my children, all members of the UTama 2022 generation, be confident and show your commitment to becoming the best students Indonesia has. You are the UTama generation. UTama is us, and we must understand our values, grow, and achieve for Indonesia. Greetings to the UTama generation. Greetings to my UTama friends and greetings to DJITU.”
