Widyatama University, located in the city of Bandung, is celebrating its 22nd anniversary this year. Founded by the late Prof. Dr. Koesbandijah, the university has continued to grow and achieve several outstanding accomplishments.
Widyatama University, which is under the Widyatama Foundation, currently holds an “Excellent” accreditation from the National Accreditation Agency for Higher Education (BAN-PT) 2022, with 6 undergraduate programs in various faculties all achieving “Premium” International Accreditation. (A) (Management, Accounting, Industrial Engineering, Information Systems, English, and Japanese D3).
Due to its various academic achievements, Widyatama Private University has also been categorized as an “Independent Higher Education Cluster.”
The commemoration or anniversary of 22 years of existence of this private university in Bandung was held on Wednesday, August 2, 2023, at the Widyatama University Multipurpose Building (GSG), attended by the Foundation Leaders, University Rectorate Leaders, Lecturers and Employees, as well as several representatives of Widyatama University Students.
The series of events for the Widyatama University Anniversary, with the theme “Excellence, Roots, and Benefits Towards Globalization,” began with the cutting of the tumpeng (cone-shaped rice dish) by the Rector of Widyatama University, Prof. Dr. H. Dadang Suganda, witnessed by the leaders of the Widyatama Foundation and the Widyatama University Rectorate. He immediately gave the first piece to Sri Lestari Roespinoedji, S.H., daughter of the late Prof. Dr. Koesbandijah, which was greeted with emotion and applause from the invited guests.
After the ceremonial cutting of the tumpeng was completed, the next activity was a presentation by Prof. Dadang, which included a report on the performance and achievements of the institution he leads.
On that occasion, the Rector of Widyatama University explained Widyatama’s perspective in achieving “Excellent” accreditation, including:
- Completing SN-Dikti (9 standards);
- Completing Key Performance Indicators/IKU (8 indicators);
- Exceeding SN-Dikti & IKU based on DJITU values and Widyatama’s uniqueness;
- Having excellence in the implementation and outcomes of Tridharma and its supporting elements, as well as excellence in the implementation and outcomes of student activities based on SIMKATMAWA and PKM, and human resources.
- Providing benefits for stakeholders (students, DUDI, and the community) at the national, regional, and global levels.
The Chairman of Widyatama University also did not forget to express his appreciation to the Units, Lecturers, and Students who had achieved outstanding performance by showing a video recap of the achievements made by the Units, Lecturers, and Students of UTama.
Also present at the 22nd anniversary of Widyatama University was the Chairman of the Widyatama Foundation, Roeshartono, who in his speech invited the entire community to work together, cooperate, and help each other in order to support the Rector of Widyatama University in developing and advancing Widyatama University.
At the end of the event, the committee gave the opportunity to lecturer Dr. Viddi Mardiansyah to give a testimonial regarding the achievement of completing his doctoral studies on time (4 years) and a testimonial from Yanyan Agustian, Ph.D. regarding the achievement of obtaining research grants and PkM.
