Bandung, February 21, 2025 – Sabrina Amelia Putri Kurniadi, a student of the Library and Information Science Study Program, was elected as Chair of the Student Senate of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) at Widyatama University for the 2024-2025 term. This election marks a new chapter in student organization leadership, particularly within the FISIP Student Senate, bringing a fresh spirit for the advancement of FISIP.
Prior to becoming Chair of the Student Senate, Sabrina had already demonstrated her commitment to organizational work, beginning with her role as a member of the Student Senate in the Department of Education and Organization. This experience continued when she was trusted to serve as General Secretary for the 2023-2024 term. It is this dedication and solid track record that provide Sabrina with a strong foundation for leading the FISIP Student Senate.
The elected Senate Chair carries a vision and mission towards an active, innovative, and competitive FISIP, namely “Making the FISIP Student Senate a forum that can encourage FISIP students to play an active, innovative, and competitive role in academic and non-academic fields, as well as being collaborative, contributive, and inclusive in creating positive change on campus and in the community.” To realize this vision, Sabrina and her team have developed a series of strategic missions, including:
Student Potential Development: Facilitating the development of academic and non-academic skills relevant to students’ interests and needs.
Capacity Building: Conducting training, workshops, and seminars to sharpen soft skills and hard skills
Social Contribution: Encouraging active student participation in social activities that have a positive impact on the environment.
Student Voice: Becoming a bridge for student aspirations and fighting for their rights on and off campus.
Collaborative Network: Building partnerships with various student organizations, institutions, and communities to expand opportunities for FISIP students.
The flagship work programs are designed to realize the vision and mission, which include:
FISIP Bersuara: Accommodating and channeling the aspirations of FISIP students.
FISIP Produktif: Developing student potential and skills.
FISIP Share and Care: Organizing social activities and community service.
FISIP Sport and Art: Accommodating students’ interests and talents in sports and the arts.
Staff Update: Internal improvement of members.
In addition to being active in organizations, female students of the Library and Information Science Study Program have extensive knowledge and insight by choosing this strategic study program because they see broad career opportunities in the future. Sabrina also appreciates the conducive atmosphere of the Widyatama University campus and the facilities that support teaching and learning activities.
With a clear vision and mission, a focused work program, and full support from FISIP students, Sabrina is optimistic that she can lead the FISIP Student Senate at Widyatama University in a better and more progressive direction.
