Universitas Widyatama Graduates 656 Students for the 2024–2025 Academic Year, Featuring an Alumnus Who is Now the Deputy Mayor of Cimahi

Bandung — Universitas Widyatama once again made us proud by graduating 656 students from various study programs at the 2024–2025 Academic Year Graduation Ceremony, which was held at the Harris Convention Center, Festival Citylink, on Saturday (03/05/2025).

This solemn and enthusiastic event was attended by important figures, including the Rector of Widyatama University, Prof. Dr. H. Dadang Suganda, Drs., M.Hum., Deputy Mayor of Cimahi, Adhitia Yudisthira, and Head of LLDIKTI Region IV West Java and Banten, Dr. Lukman, S.T., M.Hum.

In his speech, the Rector of Widyatama expressed his appreciation to all graduates for their dedication and enthusiasm during their process in university.

“We hope that the graduates are truly qualified and well-received by the community and the world of work. The Widyatama academic community prays that the graduates will be blessed with smooth sailing and success in every step they take,” said Prof. Dadang.

He also outlined a number of campus initiatives that support government policies, such as:
Adjusting the curriculum to industry needs.

Increasing lecturer capacity through digital literacy and contemporary competencies.

Community-based research, including collaboration with Sumedang Regency, Inti University Malaysia, and partners from India.

Examples include research on the use of solar energy for rural electricity in Cileles Village and the development of an artificial intelligence (AI)-based fish farming detection tool. These programs not only encourage innovation but also contribute directly to the welfare of the community.

A source of pride came from the presence of Adhitia Yudisthira, Deputy Mayor of Cimahi, who is an alumnus of the Universitas Widyatama Accounting Study Program. In his speech, he e

expressed his emotion and pride at being able to return to his alma mater in his capacity as a public official.
“I stand here not only as the Deputy Mayor of Cimahi, but also as an alumnus of Widyatama. What I have achieved today is the result of the education and values I gained while studying here. I hope that today’s graduates can step forward with confidence and uphold the good name of their alma mater,” said Adhitia.

Meanwhile, Dr. Lukman, S.T., M.Hum., as Head of LLDIKTI Region IV West Java and Banten, expressed his appreciation for Widyatama’s innovative steps in implementing the Tri Dharma of University.

“Universitas Widyatama is an example that universities must be partners in development, not ivory towers. From community-based research to international collaboration, this is a tangible form of higher education transformation,” explained Dr. Lukman.

The graduation ceremony concluded with the presentation of awards to the best graduates and artistic performances by students. This event was not only a farewell, but also a celebration of the beginning of the graduates’ journey of making a real contribution to the nation and the world.
