UNIVERSITAS wIDYATAMA Offers Scholarships to High Achieving Students in Dili, Timor Leste

Dili, May 8th, 2025 – Universitas Widyatama Bandung conducted an educational visit to a number of schools in Dili, Timor Leste, on Thursday, May 8th, 2025, in order to establish educational cooperation and expand access to information about scholarship opportunities for international students. The event began at 8:30 a.m. local time and included visits to four schools: Colegio Paulo VI, Escola Sao Pedro, Ensino Básico São Carlos, and Santa Madalena de Canossa.

During the visit, Widyatama University offered full funding scholarships and partial scholarships to outstanding students who wish to pursue higher education in Indonesia. A warm welcome was extended by the school principals, teachers, and students who enthusiastically participated in the information session and dialogue with representatives from Universitas Widyatama.

Also present in the group was the Vice Rector for Research, Innovation, Community Service, and Cooperation, Dr. Didit Damur Rochman, M.T., along with the Marketing Directorate Team and the Universitas Widyatama Cooperation and Public Relations Team.

Continuing the series of activities, at 2:00 p.m. WIT, Universitas Widyatama also held an open socialization event at the Library of the Indonesian Embassy (KBRI) – Indonesian Cultural Center (PBI) in Dili. This event is a follow-up to the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between Widyatama University and PBI, which took place on Tuesday, May 7th, 2025.

This socialization event was attended by prospective students from Timor Leste who were enthusiastic to learn more about Universitas Widyatama, a leading campus in Bandung that has been awarded the “EXCELLENT” rating from BAN-PT and offers various study programs accredited as ‘Excellent’ and “Very Good.”

One of the prospective students from Timor Leste, Casey, expressed his interest in Widyatama University. “Widyatama University has complete facilities and study programs with EXCELLENT and Very Good accreditations, which is why I chose this campus. In addition, this campus also has a modern learning environment that supports the development of soft skills and international collaboration, which is very important for our future,” he said.

This activity shows Universitas Widyatama’s commitment to building international networks and making a real contribution to human resource development in Southeast Asia, especially Timor Leste.
